Summary Balfour Beatty Infrastructure in Humble, TX is currently undertaking the North Plant of Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP) expansion project. This design-build project will add 320 million gallons per day (MGD) by 2024 to the existing water plant's capacity.
Balfour Beatty is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team as we oversee the construction of a new water treatment plant. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about construction management in the context of a complex and essential infrastructure project.
Responsibilities: - Assist project managers and engineers with various construction management tasks.
- Review and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Participate in site visits and monitor construction progress.
- Assist with quality control procedures by documenting construction activities and identifying potential issues.
- Prepare reports summarizing site observations and progress.
- Research and learn about water treatment plant construction processes and technologies.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the project, such as data entry or document preparation.
- Attend project meetings and take notes.
Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in construction and infrastructure development.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
