Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator for Multi Axis Lathe to join a dynamic team. This full-time position is 100% onsite in Santa Clara, CA and involves programming, setting up, and machining precision parts using CNC Swiss machines. The role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail in order to produce quality parts and improve manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and machine quality precision parts per specification using CNC Swiss machines with minimal supervision.
• Verify operations to be performed and materials to be used on each job as directed by documentation or supervisor.
• Program and set up equipment with appropriate tooling, determining appropriate dimensions, feeds, and speeds.
• Operate Swiss CNC machines to produce parts, focusing on complex parts requiring a high skill level.
• Monitor runs to ensure consistent quality and perform troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Use measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for tolerance and visually inspect surfaces for appearance.
• Improve manufacturing processes by analyzing and determining more efficient methods or techniques.
• Develop statistical process control plans for manufacturing.
• Define process control plans, establish limits, ensure implementation, and review results to determine corrective actions.
• Install tooling and set up manufacturing jobs, including initial setup, mounting fixtures, and installing tooling.
• Follow SOP instructions and perform first article or process verification runs.
• Implement change requests from customers and assist in the quotation process as required.
• Provide training to other machinists and serve as a technical resource.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and ensure regular attendance.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of Swiss machining work experience preferred; CNC Lathe experience is acceptable with training provided.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in learning and continued professional growth.
• Ability to develop rapport with employees.
• Skilled in computers, CAD/CAM, and CNC manual Swiss programming.
• Knowledge and skill in using measuring and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge and skill in statistical process control.
• Understanding of quality assurance standards.
• Hands-on experience in programming and setup of CNC Swiss machines.
• Ability to interpret geometric tolerance and drawings.
• Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel and Word.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 1st shift.
