BASIC FUNCTION

In this role, you will play a vital role in transforming the digital healthcare environment, developing technical solutions for complex problems, and providing essential support to clinical staff. Your expertise in clinical workflows and informatics will be instrumental in optimizing patient care and driving innovation through the effective use of technology.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. End-User Support & Development
    1. Analyze clinical workflows and identify areas for improvement, efficiency, and quality enhancement using informatics methodologies.
      1. Provide technical expertise and support to clinical staff, assisting with the adoption and efficient utilization of technology tools and solutions.
    2. Conduct user training and education sessions to ensure clinicians and staff are proficient in using clinical software systems and maximize their benefits.
  2. System Administration
    1. Stay abreast of emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in clinical software and digital healthcare, and make recommendations for their application within the organization.
    2. Analyze and interpret clinical data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for quality improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
    3. Evaluate and select appropriate software applications, systems, and tools to support clinical operations and enhance patient care.
  3. Communication
    1. Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT professionals, vendors, and administrators.
    2. Provide clear and concise explanations and instructions fostering a culture of customer-centricity by promoting a friendly and supportive environment for all interactions.
    3. Practice active listening to understand the specific needs and challenges of everyone.
  4. Security & Compliance
    1. Manage and protect patient health records and company data, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards.
    2. Support information exchange initiatives between healthcare providers, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  5. Professional Development

Engage in self-directed learning and professional development to expand knowledge and skills, keeping up with industry advancements and incorporating new approaches into daily work

PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting and strong understanding of clinical workflows and processes.
  3. Proven expertise in clinical software support and development, including experience with EHR systems, and other healthcare technologies.
  4. Proficiency in analyzing and improving clinical workflows using informatics methodologies and tools.
  5. Strong technical skills and ability to develop and implement technical solutions for clinical challenges.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a track record of innovative thinking and successful project implementation.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clinical staff, IT professionals, and other stakeholders.
  8. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, privacy, and security requirements, and experience ensuring compliance within informatics solutions.
  9. Experience with data analysis, interpretation, and visualization tools.
  10. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs and priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  1. Electronic Health Record Skills – Utilizes Electronic Health Record systems to accomplish document processing and retrieval.
  2. Word Processing Skills - Prepares more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs, and other elements.
  3. Spreadsheet Skills - Uses Microsoft Excel to analyze data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  4. Graphics/Presentation Skills - Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

  1. Have constant need (66% - 100% of time) to be able to hear other personnel in order to communicate effectively.
