Position Overview:

A security supervisor monitors his staff by patrolling with them by auto or on foot. The supervisor is also responsible for monitoring the electronic surveillance equipment used on the premises. Each day the supervisor assigns areas for his officers to patrol and presents a list of potential officers should watch out for. If someone is caught trespassing or committing a crime, the supervisor oversees the transfer of the accused person to the custody of local law enforcement personnel. The supervisor is also responsible to work with staff to develop safety plans for the buildings being monitored. Security supervisor leads periodic safety drills for employees and patrons in the business.

 

Key Description:

Elite Security Services and Solutions LLC Deputy Security Supervisors oversee solution officers and K-9 Specialists who protect private and public property against theft, vandalism, and altercations (verbal and violent). Security officers also ensure the safety of people on their employer’s premises. Security personnel work in office buildings, retail stores and other public buildings. They also work in public transportation venues, such as airports and bus terminals. ESS&S security supervisors will do patrol duty and handle administrative obligations. ESS&S security supervisors will establish a downward trend in negative incidents, whether violent or verbal, by fostering a culture of safety & security.

  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Run as needed
  • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
  • Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones
  • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold (snow), rain or heat;
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills
  • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serves as on-site contact between ESS&S Management and Client support team, furthering a long-term and mutually beneficial business relationship
  • Supervises the daily operations of security officers and ensure timely completion of administrative functions such as Daily Security Recaps, Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, logs, etc.
  • Prepare written reports, in a clear and concise method that meets the needs and requirements of the security department and the property management
  • Promotes professionalism within the security team. Coordinates and monitors the operational effectiveness of the staff in delivery of services and with the assistance of the Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager, develops, recommends and implements necessary program changes to meet the client’s goals and objectives
  • Ensures on-site compliance with ESS&S and Client policies and procedures. As well as assisting the Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager in developing specific procedures that will improve and enhance the teams service delivery capabilities
  • In conjunction with the Regional Security Director and or ESS&S Portfolio Manager, ensures the facility is fully staffed in accordance with all scheduling and staff requirements to include extra security assignments
  • With assistance from the Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager, oversees the selection, orientation, development and retention of security staff; ensures the facility has well qualified team members properly trained to carry out the organizations’ mission
  • Ensures that all post orders and training materials are updated regularly. Officers are trained thoroughly on security material, martial arts and de-escalation methods
  • In conjunction with the Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager, coordinate trainings for; High-interest items (i.e., Report Writing, Sexual Harassment, Communication Skills, Emergency Response, Special Instructions, Customer Service, Appearance, Site Knowledge, and Call off Procedure) that require special attention
  • Monitors, advises, and updates ESS&S and Client management contacts of all information regarding security issues
  • Oversees and ensures security equipment (e.g., radios, cell phones, pagers, monitors, chargers, printers, flashlights, keys, cameras and computers, etc.) are in excellent working condition and not mishandled or abused
  • Communicates to Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager any security officer acknowledgements for excellent performance
  • Keeps familiar with and enforces ESS&S Employee Handbook, Standards of Business Conduct and Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
  • Ensures all individual service and performance concerns, notification of employee injury, violations of ESS&S Employee Handbook, anti-harassment and or zero tolerance, sleeping on duty, narcotics, etc. are brought to the attention of the Regional Security Director and or Portfolio Manager
  • Maintain ongoing positive communications with other on-site contract personnel and their management staff

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College education preferred
  • Must be of 18 years of age at least
  • Must exhibit exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess a valid Guard License for your state, or have applied and subsequently be issued such a license prior to employment.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test. Additionally, as a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of Guard License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty
  • Must be able to get Instructor certified in Elite Security Services and Solutions Safety Restraint Protocol, ESS&S Martial Arts Tactical Move Set, and ESS&S De-escalation Matrix Techniques
  • Possess excellent supervision and personal skills
  • Have excellent coaching skills, organizational skills, good computer knowledge and literacy are a must
  • Have a strong knowledge of security and emergency operations
  • Have an employment history demonstrating reliability and dependability
  • Be able to handle emergency situations effectively while remaining calm
  • Display a professional demeanor at all times
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Be able to work independently while also being a team player
